The City of Burbank Facebook page was the “brainchild” of current Mayor Jess Talamantes. Funny how it’s a closed group that not everyone can join. It’s a chaotic, often cringe-inducing morass of information, opinion and advertising. I visit often and post there as it’s a good way to reach nearly five thousand residents. But the Mayor’s son is about to restrict what people can post there – just in time for the election. How is this tolerated in Burbank? If you find this disturbing you can contact the mayor and let him know that a “free and open exchange” of ideas is what a democracy should embrace not suppress.
